The Jungle
The Jungle

A long, long time ago, in a bright and colourful jungle, the animals yearned for a leader. A leader who can bring the mighty jungle under one order. One who would be capable of making their days fun and safe.

High above the trees, the wise old owl, who had been watching all the happenings of the forest for years. He loudly announced, “It is time for the jungle to have a King! The King must be strong, brave, and wise!”

All the animals heard the call and agreed cheerefully, “yes! A King to protect us, guide us, and make fair rules!”

Many thought of the mighty Elephant. They believed that he should be King because he is the biggest animal in the jungle. He boasts of a long huge trunk that could push down trees and ears as wide as banana leaves to listen to the faintest whispers. He even boasted of his capabilities. “I am strong,” he could be heared singing praises to himself. “And I never forget anything!” He added.

A clever monkey on a vine scratched his head. “Strength is good, but what if we need a king who’s fast like a shooting star to help us in time?” All were silent for a moment.

Then emerged the tall giraffe. Shouting from yards away, “what about me?” she asked, while peeking from above the treetops. “I can see everything from way up here, far and wide!”

“But you run away from danger,” hissed the camouflaged Snake. “We need someone daring and fierce!”

Suddenly, a loud ROAR shook the ground. Every animal stood attentively. It was the Lion. Sounding brave and proud, the Lion walked majestically into the meeting with his thick mane blowing in the breeze. Everyone turned to look. Yoo could see the crocodile blink in shock!

“Why should you be King?” bellowed the Elephant.

“I may not be the biggest,” responded the Lion, “but I am brave. I'm also fast. No enemycan outrun me. When danger comes, I don't hide like many of yopu. I fight. I can protect the weak. I also listen before I act.”

The animals murmured. “Hmm… he sounds like King.”

To make it fair to everyone, the clever Owl came up with a test. “Whoever helps the jungle most over the next three days will be the king.”He declared!

On the first day, a wildfire started near the river. The Elephant sipped water with his trunk and sprayed it over the fire until it died out. They all clapped and applauded him.

All that time, Lion was guiding the weak frightened animals to safe grounds away from the flames He was making sure everyone was safe.

On the second day, a baby Antelope got stuck in a muddy pit. The Giraffe saw it from far away and called for help. But while others waited, the Lion acted swiftly to pull the baby to safety.

On the third day, the sneaky Jackal tried to steal Turtle's eggs. The Jackal mocked slow turtle, but before he could take a bite, the Lion growled a warning and chased him away.

That evening, the animals gathered once more. “Elephant is strong,” said Owl, “but Lion is brave, swift, fair, and kind.”

“Hooray for Lion King!” shouted all the animals, praising him, as they happily danced to Hornbill's tunes. That's how the Lion became King. He ruled with kindness and fairness. The mighty jungle because a home for them all, full of happiness and

many adventures.

One sunny afternoon, a little lamb skipped along the dusty path near her village, her creamy-white wool bouncing like the softest, most colorful fluff anyone has ever seen, way fluffier and prettier than any doll anyone has ever dreamed of! She was a very adorable lamb, full of giggles, and loved by everybody in the village. She loved to explore her village and the nearby forest with her friends. They were so many friends that the lamb never got afraid, even when they were in the forest.

As she walked, she remembered how one day they were caught up by darkness after failing to notice the sun was about to set. It’s a very dark forest at the center, where it’s hard to tell when nightfall comes. No one had a watch that day. By the time they noticed it was getting dark, they were far down the mountain near the center of the valley, where the dark blue mountain they’d seen far on the other side, hours before, started to tower before them. They were a few steps from crossing to the other side and it was pitch dark.

They hurried back, but it was too late. It was already dusk.

While rushing back, they could hear the voices of hyenas cackling. They could hear their laughter too, but the little lamb had been told that when hyenas laugh, it means they’ve caught a meal and are inviting their friends to celebrate. A sheep is one of their favorite foods. But with so many friends around, the little lamb didn’t get scared.

This particular sunny afternoon, she skipped along the dusty path near her village alone, her creamy-white wool bouncing like the softest, most colorful fluff ever. Suddenly, a cunning wolf stepped out from behind a huge tree, his big, with a shiny smile gleaming like a new coin. His gray fur showed, but he stood tall like a man, wearing a colorful hat and holding a basket full of candy-red, yellow, and green treats that sparkled in the sun.

“Hello, little one!” he said, his voice smooth and sweet.

“I’m a traveler, and I have extra candy. Want some? It’s free!”

The lamb’s big, innocent eyes widened. Free candy sounded like fun! She stepped closer, reaching out with her tiny hoof, but a weird shiver ran down her back. The wolf’s smile stretched too wide, and his eyes gleamed like those of a sneaky cat.

Just then, bushes rustled, and out bounded her big brother, a clever young goat with alert eyes. “Stop!” he whispered, pulling her back. The wolf’s smile twitched, and for a moment, his face changed. His teeth grew sharp, his claws stretched out, and his hat flapped like bat wings. The lamb gasped as he growled, “You can’t get away from this!” Then, with a puff of smoke, he vanished, leaving the candy basket behind. The goat hugged her tight with his sturdy legs. “That wasn’t just a wolf,” he said, sounding scared.

Then, the lamb realized she had been cornered by the wolf, like a fisherman uses a tricky bait to catch fish.

Long ago, in a sunny savanna, the zebra and the donkey were best friends, both plain gray with no fancy colors.

One day, the Great Artist of the Sky decided to paint the animals to make them special! The donkey tried first, dipping his tail in black paint and splashing it all over himself. But oh no! He made a big, messy blob and tripped, leaving him plain and grumpy.

Then it was zebra’s turn. He danced and twirled with a brush, painting black stripes across his body like a magic trick!

The Great Artist loved zebra’s fun moves and kept the stripes, saying, “These will hide you from lions with their wiggly patterns!”

Now, zebra loves showing off his cute striped body, painted by his clever dance, while donkey just brays about his failed splash.

Next time you see a zebra, imagine painting your own stripy masterpiece, maybe with a dance too! But now without the tail!
